Reflection: Flexibility Winter Holidays: Pulling it all Together - Section 2: Small Group Work


Depending on time constraints and students’ abilities, you may want to have students write their own questions. Because we were on a short time frame and because my students have never completed such an activity, I chose to have them write questions together within their small groups. Also, students had other times when they would work independently so this was a good opportunity for them to work together.

Objective: SWBAT determine how five major holidays are the same and how they are different.

Big Idea: After researching a winter holiday, students will work independently, in partners, and small groups to determine how their chosen holiday is similar to four others.
