Reflection: Writing Across the Disciplines Location - Section 3: Independent practice


When I graded the worksheets, I found that my English learners had struggled with them. Some of them are excellent readers, but still made too many mistakes (as you can see from the samples) to consider that this lesson had met their needs. I decided that I had to create another lesson targeting that group in particular. On the other extreme, I saw that the worksheet had been too easy for more than half the class, and I decided that I would need to come up with a lesson that had more rigor for them and that they could apply to writing.
