Reflection: ELL Students Using the Multiplication and Division Relationship to Solve - Section 3: Independent Practice


During small group instruction, I use counters, white boards and anything that students can manipulate.  I want to ensure that my students are receiving the information is ways that make sense to them. I have a high ELL population so we focus on close reading; we read sentence-by-sentence, think about and talk about what each sentences is telling us and either draw a model, jot notes or draw a picture to represent the information.
