Reflection: High Expectations Sea Stanzas: An Introduction to Poetry Structure - Section 4: Demonstrate Skills

As this lesson progresses, I hear the students using academic vocabulary, such as "stanza" and "line".  It's so exciting to know that when we expect our students to use vocabulary in conversation, they can-we just have to set that expectation!   It's also REALLY exciting to see my third grade students feel so proud, so intelligent, as they use the "fancy words" (as some of my students call them).  I'm very proud of my students, and their ownership, in learning new word and applying them in their conversations!
