Reflection: Thanksgiving Play - Section 3: Partner Work

I had planned for us to analyze the text. I was surprised with my students insistence that we act out the play. So, we did.  I allowed volunteers to present:students reading the play.  I think it helped us gather meaning and understanding.  It took a lot longer, but my students know I appreciate their opinion about how they learn.  I think it is important to give in a little and change plans when students are leading the learning.  I know I understood the story better after we acted it out and we had an enormous amount of fun.
