Reflection: Coherence Look Who's Talking Now - Section 3: Partner Work

I think the eraser marks show that after I did a lot of questioning my students about their work they were able to come up with proficient work.  One group said the girl did not want to be afraid (Student Work) and the other said she wanted to be brave (Student Work).  Both used evidence from the text to support their ideas.  Some of the questions that I think made this lesson so successful are: Who is telling the story?  The girl, she uses I in the text.  How does she feel?  Why?  What did she want to do?  So, how can you sum up her feelings into a statement.

The other thing that made this lesson go well is that I picked at text that was written in first person. It also had the first person telling their feelings and reacting a specific way in response to the emotions.
