Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge Stuart Little Book Study Chapters 10 to 12 - Section 4: Closure


Students used the prior knowledge they have gained regarding the characters in the book Stuart Little thus far to create poetry.  I found students who wrote the character poem had a slightly easier time than those who wrote acrostic poems.  I think it was because the character poem provided a little more guidance in the form of a format.  It was also a learning experience for some students to realize that all poems don't have to end with rhyming words.
