Reflection: Pacing Volcanoes: Socratic Seminar & Main Ideas - Section 4: Independent Practice


Due to the extended Cue Set, we did not get to the seminar today.  This is OK, I would rather scholars do an in-depth and meaningful second read of the complex text rather than rush the second read to get to the seminar.  The discussion will be more rich, powerful and scholars will learn more if you make sure that they practice the skill with the complex text appropriately BEFORE the seminar occurs.
