Reflection: Intrinsic Motivation Should Animals Wear Clothes? 1 of 5 - Section 1: Let's learn about the animals.

I chose to show these videos because some of my ELLs may not know what all the animals look like in real life.  I am trying to build background knowledge about animals they may not know about.  Videos are great for building schema as they depict authentic and real images and students tend to remember what they see.  Animal characters in a book can look very different than the real animal.  I want my students to experience each animal before I move on to the setting and events discussion. Knowing these animals better will help my students to understand the story and will also motivate them to listen carefully. This is help prepare my students so that they can write their opinion piece.
