Reflection: Intrinsic Motivation Character vs. Self Conflicts - Section 1: How does a character show conflict with self?

The effectiveness of this lesson preview was evident when a student shared her brilliant analysis that she saw inner conflict with Ariel on the "Little Mermaid".   Ariel struggled to make a difficult choice of leaving her family to be with her prince. I was awed that this student got this concept so quickly.

Another student described a movie when Batman had to make a decision whether to stay and fight crimes or begin a new life retired from being a crime fighter. The student added that this was a difficult choice for Batman because he cared so much to make the world a safer place.  Another unexpected response that indicated to me this lesson made a powerful impact.
