Reflection: Staircase of Complexity Symbolism - Section 1: Discussion of Symbols


As the class discussed examples from movies and video games, it certainly appeared that the class had a grasp on the concept of symbolism.  However, as we progressed to the worksheet and their figurative interpretation of the symbol, students had difficulty separating the story from the interpretation.  It was necessary to come back to this concept another day and practice with other stories.
