Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Chain - Section 3: Partner Work


I only had one copy of Goodnight Goon, and it was Halloween so it messed up the lesson.  Every group needed the book to reference to see what happened.  They also use the book to see how to spell.  I could have copied one page of the beginning, middle, and end.  The reason the two other groups did not finish is because they needed the book.  I anticipated this so I seated the class on the lounge so I could move around in my roller chair and get to each group quick.  But, they needed their own book.

I needed to assign group member roles.  One group got into an argument about who would put the sticker on the paper.  I had to referee and assign roles to get them to begin working again, but feeling were already hurt. The roles I would assign are writer, reader, and sticker manager.
