Reflection: Checks for Understanding Points of Informational Text-Main Idea and Details - Section 5: Apply What You Know


When we discussed timelines, I found out that I should have spent a few more moments talking about which way a timeline goes (left to right) and where to put the error.  When we taped together our papers, one group had the arrow going to the wrong way.  Here's the picture that prompted me to ask "which way does it go?

Well, teachable moment.  "What way does history go?  From the big numbers to the small numbers or the small numbers to the big numbers?  Where do we put our arrows on the timeline?"
