Reflection: Relevance I Scream, You Scream - It's a Cone! - Section 3: Activity


I have found that when you make a lesson relevant to the students in a way they understand and can relate to, the learning is endless. They remember it for years to come and they connect the learning to things in the future. I have students still coming to me from years ago asking me if I remember the cone activity that we did.

Unit 8: Know Those Shapes!
Lesson 11 of 15

Objective: SWBAT identify and describe a cone by it's attributes.

Big Idea: Kindergarteners love to identify shapes in their environment. In order effectively do that, they must be able to recognize different shapes by their specific attributes. In this lesson kindergartners learn about the attributes of a cone.
