Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge Connections: It's all about me! - Section 2: Mini-Lesson


Reflection: I refer to schema in this lesson and this is an important concept for kids to understand so they can make better Connections. Schema refers to your background knowledge and experience, which is what’s recalled when reading text and making Connections. This concept is something that my students have already learned and refer to often. Through this unit, we will continue to use the term schema. Before you teach Connections, it would be a great benefit to students to introduce and discuss the concept of schema.
