Reflection: Intervention and Extension Writing as an Assessment 2 - Section 3: Independent Practice and Share

If I feel that students are having a hard time coming up with ideas, then I allow them to share ideas with a partner before starting their writing. This year the students were stuck on thinking about hero powers and instead wanted to write about a super hero but then said that they couldn’t think of any super hero they wanted to be. I reminded them that they are only writing about a power which allows for more freedom in their writing.
