Reflection: Coherence Factoring (Day 1 of 3) - Section 2: Guided Notes + Practice


Even though it’s in the lesson, have students list and look at all the common factors before finding the greatest. Students will too eagerly factor and pick out the first thing they see without looking at everything. I would, in doing it again, emphasize to kids that they aren’t wrong but there are just more items they forgot. I would ask them to see if they can find another GCF to have them check that they didn't just pull out a common factor and miss the GCF.
