## Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge Graphing Linear Systems of Equations (Day 1 of 2) - Section 2: Opening

This was one of the most fun lessons! Students enjoy learning about  systems, and this lesson transitions smoothly because they know how to graph lines. Due to the success of the past unit on graphing points on a line, even my less proficient students were fluid with this skill.

A poor work habit which manifests in this lesson is students not wanting to check their lines if they crossed. Be sure to reinforce checking their work and avoid building the habit of not checking since just having them cross isn’t enough.

# Graphing Linear Systems of Equations (Day 1 of 2)

Unit 6: Systems of Linear Equations
Lesson 1 of 9

## Big Idea: Students will discover that intersecting lines on a coordinate plane share a common solution, forming a system of equation.
