Reflection: Checks for Understanding Multiplication and Division One Step Equations - Section 2: Notes + Guided Practice


As this lesson builds upon prior lessons it’s essential for me to see student mastery of the new aspect and ensure a firm grasp of the concept. To facilitate this students need to make their thinking and work visible at this stage. Students want to use mental math to solve these. I found that using unfamiliar numbers to push the rigor also led students away from mental math to check their accuracy. Exactly what I wanted!
