## Reflection: Intervention and Extension Graphing Absolute Value Functions (Day 1 of 2) - Section 2: Introduction to Absolute Value Function

In order to build a foundation for the lesson I checked to make sure students understood absolute value before they completed the graph. The use of the number line was key reinforcement  of this concept.

To further aid those who were still struggling with of the graph, I had each student create an input/output table. By doing the math for each input value by hand, students were able to see the justification for why the absolute value function was shaped like a “v”. As a final CFU, students compared their x/y table with a neighbor before putting it on their paper.
