Reflection: Students with Disabilities What Is A Biome? - Section 2: Explore

Students often need support when reading nonfiction material in order to answer specific questions. For this activity, I chunked the material into organized paragraphs. I assigned numbers to the questions that matched the paragraphs in which the answer can be found.

This helps the students to look for specific answers within a specific location when reading the text. In reading side 1, the paragraphs are numbered for easy reference. In reading side 2, the paragraphs are numbered and the important vocabulary words are underlined as a second layer of scaffolding. These two supports can be given and taken away as needed.
