Reflection: Real World Applications Predation Lab - Section 2: Introduce New Material

This hands on lab allows students to gain a better perspective of how environmental changes affect the predation habits of organisms.  it's a real world application that I hope leads students to realize the constructiveness of life and the environment.  I like this lab because it allows students to simulate an environment, its changes and how it affects the Blue Heron.

I also like this lab because it requires students to work together in order to complete the lab.  The ability to work with others is a challenge for some so this type of small group lab affords students a chance to practice their skills wokring as part of a team.

The constructed response questions require use of analysis, inference and prediction skills.  All of which help them become better scientific investigators.
