Reflection: Complex Tasks Collaboration: Body System Presentations #2 (Day 4 of 6) - Section 4: Student Models Support Our Understanding

The addition of the 3D model requirement to the Body System Research Project has not only supported our efforts with NGSS, but it has encouraged students who otherwise are not engaged in Biology to shine in our classroom.  Students who usually prefer art over Biology tend to remain reserved in the class, but this project provides an ideal situation for them to be the star group member by creating an informative and eye-pleasing model to represent their body system.  Students who normally perform at an average level, excelled in this project.  I will continue to develop projects for students to create models and express their artistic side in our Biology class!
