Reflection: Student Ownership STEM & Sound - Day 2 - Section 5: Evaluation:

The definition of engineering is: The engineering design process is a series of steps that engineering teams use to guide them as they solve problems. The design process is cyclical, meaning that engineers repeat the steps as many times as needed, making improvements along the way.

Before my students can do what engineers do, it is important that I create an environment that allows them to see that mistakes are wonderful learning opportunities. Using STEM is an awesome way to create this type of learning environment.  As student's design projects fail it becomes the perfect teaching opportunity.  With every mistake, we celebrate and re-design.  I feel this is the most important part of the entire process.
