Next time I will use fewer items for a couple of reasons.

- I will select items that have a more noticeable quantitative difference between fresh and salt water, such as grapes and soap.

- Select only items that float to a horizontal reference line

- Provide time to run observations for salt and fresh water on day one.

Then on day two students can develop their lab summary of their observations (results), write their conclusion and learn more about density differences between fresh and salt water.
