Reflection: Student Self-Assessment Now hear this! - Section 3: Exploration ~ the wave crest


My students are becoming reflective learners, but at ages six and seven, I find that I still need to help them self-evaluate.  Here, students color in smiley and sad faces as to whether they have used particular communication strategies in their notebooks.

In this video, I help them check-in by reading the rubric and focusing their attention to the rubric.  They are still self-evaluating independently.  Eventually, an increasing number of students will move towards self-refection and evaluation without a check-in.
