Reflection: Checks for Understanding Having a Whale of a Good Time! - Section 3: Explore


The children do a good job sorting the picture word cards.  They do just as I expect. The teeth and flippers are easy for them.  The baleen and the flukes cause them a bit of discomfort. I hear a lot of discussion within the groups about which word the children believed should go with the correct pictures.  

I was impressed with some of the explanations that the children shared with each other and how animated they could be in describing and defending their own preconceived ideas.
