Reflection: High Quality Task Uses of Rocks and Minerals - Section 3: Activity

So you know the expression "Best laid plans"? Well...that was this lesson, and it did NOT turn out that way! What was supposed to be a simple little walk around the school to draw some pictures of where rocks were being used turned into us being off our schedule for some reason that day, so several classes were having recess in areas where I wanted to take my students, and it was a disaster! Since we were off our schedule, we did not have our journals, which made my students totally unfocused, as you can see in this video!

The solution to this was to do the lesson over again - not completely, but just in a more controlled way when the students were more focused and prepared to learn. We still did not have our journals but you can clearly see the difference in their responses! Class Discussion - Uses of Rock
