This entire discussion about consistency was very helpful.  The children made solid suggestions on how we should do this investigation.  Having a student come up and model the wind test was very helpful to make sure we were all consistent.

Also letting the children make some decisions about the testing proved to be beneficial.  They felt like it was their investigation and really "bought" into it.  I was a bit surprised how engaged they were in the conversation.

As they tested their towers, I saw most trying to be very consistent.
