Reflection: Problem-based Approaches Roller Coaster Design - Day 1 - Section 2: Guided Investigation


Students should take notes as they work through this module. Some students prefer to take their own notes, but some prefer a graphic organizer. I offer students both a fillable mind-map that I make online, or a simple grid for taking notes under each topic and summarizing at the end. Some students use one graphic organizer for the entire learning activity, some use one per topic. I train students to use the graphic organizers at the beginning of the year and then as we learn new ones, I make them all available for students to use.

Objective: Students to look at the mechanics of roller coasters and the transfer of energy in them. They will use this information to begin to design their own roller coaster.
