Reflection: Intrinsic Motivation Seasons - Section 5: Elaborate

All of the science lessons I teach are super engaging, but I have noticed that right before the winter break my students seem a little bit harder to motivate: motivating students. I am sure it is because we have less outdoor play due to the weather, and they are just ready for a break. So, I typically offer them more choices and engage the students in projects where they can be creative. Choices like making a poster using different materials like crayons or markers can really get students to persevere when they are tired and ready for a break.
