Reflection: Adjustments to Practice Habitat Sharing and Wrap-Up - Section 4: Sharing


I found that the children did not present their habitats as well as I had hoped.  I asked myself what can I do to make this better.  I came up with the idea of using some sort of sentence frame to help guide them with the dialogue.  This could be something they could look at if they need assistance or need to check to see if they included everything that the audience would want to know about.  Next time I am going to write the following dialogue sentence frames on the whiteboard or on construction paper and have another child hold it up for the person to refer to if needed.

Some of the animals that I made were ___________________________.

Some of the plants in my habitat are ______________________________.

One way that I showed an animal and plant depending on one another was ______________________.


I think this will give the children a framework in which to begin their discussions.
