Reflection: Modeling Mapping Our Way to Super Sea Stories - Section 4: Demonstrate Skills and Assessment

A lot of times, when I've done writing instruction in the past, students will tell me, "I don't know what to write."  I think that the modeling part of this lesson (and also the days before) is a really important part of the process for kids to see.  If I just turn to students and say, "Today, we're going to write some stories!", I'll definitely have students excited, but I'll only have a few students that are prepared enough writers to just get started on their own.  It is imperative that I model for my students through this process so that they feel like they very clearly understand these steps before I ask them to do it themselves!
