Reflection: Rigor Number Sense Unit Exam - Section 2: Administering the Exam

Throughout this unit I challenged students with rigorous math problems.  I decided to revise the unit exam to reflect and challenge students.

Problem 5 is an assessment of students' use of area models to multiply fractions.

Problem 12 tests students' understanding of relatively prime numbers.

Problem 16 combines the concepts of perimeter, adding, and subtracting mixed numbers.

Problem 17 assesses students' ability to estimate products of mixed numbers, find the actual products of mixed numbers, and determine if their answer is reasonable.
