Reflection: Lesson Planning Building Our Solution - Section 2: Designing Our Solutions

As students were thinking about a video and a book, I realized that they would need a story board to help them lay out the order of the presentation and what would be in each part. I had not taught story boards yet so I had to stop and teach a lesson on using a story board.

I showed students how to divide a paper into 4 sections to represent a beginning, 2 middle sections and an ending. I demonstrated laying out a story or movie over the 4 sections. I used sketches and words to tell what would happen in each section of my book or video.

This mini lesson was important in the planning process and helped students to organize their thoughts and ideas before trying to complete the final product.
