Reflection: Relevance Using Science Tools - Section 2: Explore


The science lessons are relevant to the students' lives.  I believe they understand the importance of what they are learning however, the law of first mention is taking precedence over any new information about the way scientists use tools.  For instance, they viewed a video about the way scientists use various tools and I offered explanations as well.  Yet, the students revert back to what they initially learnt about a specific tool to explain its use.  It will take addition conversations about how scientists use tools in order for the students to begin associating a tool with a scientists verses how they use the tool in their everyday lives.
