Reflection: Student Grouping Nifty Notetaking - Section 3: Filling in the Facts:


After I presented the lesson, I realized that this might be for fun for them to do in pairs.I had each regional group raise their hand and chose two students to work together. I asked for them to take turns reading their section. Then as pair to find their facts. I suddenly realized that every student would have the same facts this way or at least their facts would math their partners. UH OH! Quickly thinking on my feet, I explained that each pair had to decide who wrote down what facts. Their climate would be the same but their sentences would be their own. When coming to the other sections, students needed to choose a fact and the partner would chose a different one. That way there would be variations in animals, plants, sites, and locations.

Big Idea: It is tricky to find facts and remember them. Students need practice in finding facts and keeping them neat. Neat notes will help students create an A+ project.
