Reflection: Shared Expectations Source Collaboration - Section 2: Guided Practice


I find that the students do not follow through with this well enough unless they are expected to research and share information about both sides evenly prior to being given a position to defend, at least not yet. In the past, I have seen that students attach to a position and then a vast majority of their focus is on presenting that, not refuting the other side. Sometimes, they nearly ignored the entire side of the argument entirely which is ineffective.
