Reflection: Shared Expectations Organelle Trail (4 Days) - Section 4: Crafting Days


As students were working, I noticed groups having difficulties with finding out some of the information required, particularly which organelles worked together. I "solved" this by asking the students to create a chart with what they had already found out about each organelle's function and "accomplices". This chart then became a way for the students to achieve positive interdependence, as you could hear one group ask another, "Where did you find that the lysosomes work with the vacuole. Can you send me the link?"

Unit 3: Cells and Organelles

Objective: Students will be able to identify the specific functions of organelles and explain how different organelles work together.

Big Idea: Each cell has organelles that function together allowing the organism to live.
