Reflection: Adjustments to Practice What do birds need in order to survive? - Section 3: Writing in Science

This lesson permitted my students to write in order to answer the provided question: What does the bird need in order to survive?  All the students were able to draw and write what the bird needed. However, some of the students had a difficult time expressing themselves clearly.

As students communicate as scientists, it is imperative that they communicate their findings to others in a written form. As a result, I am now requiring  my students to write their scientific findings after each lesson so they can practice communicating more effectively.
