Reflection: Student Ownership Estimating Double Digit by Double Digit Multiplication - Section 1: Core Lesson: Extending What We Already Know About Estimation


This lesson is richly filled with thinking and practice. Students generated their ideas based on their prior knowledge and then I was able to instruct. Those who were struggling at first were doing well by the end of the class today. These are my thoughts about getting students to think deeply and this lesson.
