Reflection: Perseverance Emulate Amy Tan's Writing - Section 2: Emulate the Writing


In order to provide examples of quality writing, I often have students read and analyze a passage from a text.  In this case, we had recently read “Fish Cheeks” by Amy Tan.  I felt it was appropriate for students to practice incorporating sensory details into their writing since this was a strong example reinforcing a previous lesson.
