Reflection: Real World Applications Combine 2D Shapes - Section 1: Activating Strategy


When teaching this lesson, it became very valuable for the students to add real world examples to the shape web.  I allowed them to determine what example they would put in each shape, but they had to justify why they chose that particular shape and which 2D shape it represented.

Big Idea: Shapes, shapes, shapes! What new interesting shapes can you make when you combine 2D shapes? In this lesson students will compose new 2D shapes from multiple shapes.
