Reflection: Student Ownership Extension Activities for Sarah, Plain and Tall - Section 1: Independent Work

I have some early finishers, so I provide meaningful activities for them to work on quietly. They address various learning styles and include skills I have taught previously. For example, they had to use keywords to find pictures of the flowers mentioned in Sarah, Plain and Tall. They also had to recall the characters in the story. They had the bright idea to use glitter and glue to add a character trait to the character’s album page. Learning is about applying skills learned on a context that is meaningful for students.
