Reflection: Joy James Forten: Getting to Know You! - Section 1: Cue Set


Scholars loved watching this video!  They liked it so much that they wanted to watch it a third time.  Even though this wasn't in my plans, I let them vote and watch it a third time.  Allowing students some ownership (even if it doesn't fit exactly into your plans) always helps them feel like the classroom belongs to them.  Also, I didn't consider it a waste of time since it was related to content.  The kids loved watching it again!
