Reflection: Pacing Drill 1: We Read Like Readers AND Writers! Day 1 - Section 5: Closure


It was clear to me that the kids got the idea today, for the most part. I could see that most of them were capable of reading the information and pulling out some big ideas. I also got to see who was nervous, reluctant, confused, etc. Tomorrow, we'll actually start the story and need to think through the story using these strategies. The text is appropriate for 5th grade and includes some new vocabulary. I like this because they can see the 5th grade text expectations the first week we're here.
