Reflection: Place Value Assessment - Section 3: Concept Development


I was so proud of my students during this assessment.  You can tell in this video reflection by my huge smile. They worked hard to persevere!  Many students got 100% which had me grinning from ear to ear.  One parent communication strategy I started this year was that when students get 100% on tests, they call a parent to let them know.  One of my professional goals for this year was to work on letting parents know about the GREAT things they're child is doing, rather than just the "bad" things or behavior issues. I had many students call home to get the great news and several parent emails thanking me for the phone call.   I am still in the process of correcting the assessments, but on first glance, it appears that students have mastered the standards presented in this unit.
