Reflection: Complex Tasks Evaluating Claims and Evidence in Atticus' Closing Argument - Section 3: Student Work Time-----Reading Assessment


For students to read an argumentative text well, they have to be able to distinguish between claims and evidence.  The highlighter method I used today did just that! I am amazed at how well this section of class went.  By the time we were done highlighting, students had a visual showing them how important evidence is and how much evidence is used in a strong argument.
