Reflection: Accountability Reading Response Notebook is Like Gold - Section 4: Share on the rug


The students in Room 14 are demonstrating a lot of growth in stamina, focus and ability to read, think, and write independently in a good fit book.  In a few days I will be starting an Informational Reading Unit with them.  I will encourage and remind them to bring along all the skills and strategies they have learned during the first month of school.  They have learned to select appropriate books, read with comprehension, capture their thoughts and develop their own theories about characters.  They will use all these skills and add to them in the new unit.  I will continue to emphasize students' use of reading logs to record volume and time spent reading as well as RRN to document their thinking and learning.
