Reflection: Intervention and Extension Strategy Groups - Section 2: The Multi-purpose Strategy Group


It's important to keep strategy lessons short. No longer than 15 minutes.  I set the timer and stick to it.  A strategy lesson is a follow-up of the mini-lesson, a check in, a pre-exposure, just about anything you need to meet with kids about related to their reading.  They are a bit different than guided reading groups because kids do not have to be in the same book or at the same level for a strategy group to work well.
